As these last busy weeks have wrapped up I received my e-mail update from Extreme Elk Magazine that has helped me to refocus, and a reminder that there is only 9 months left for Elk Season 2015…This video, showing rifle season, has reminded me that all things come to those who wait, patience is a virtue (which tend to be things I at times lack), and how awesome that the hunter Chase Hubbard can save $5.50 a pound for beef this year with a full freezer of elk to provide for himself and family…4 hours on the ridge for his dinner…

Things for me to take note: hiking~should start working out so I have endurance

Taking the shot~its been to long since I have pulled on the CR

P1080461

….then there is this. “THE TWANG”

When the seasons change and its time for a sweatshirt…but sweatshirts are bulky and can catch in the string and twang on your forearm leaving a red mark (I have not gotten to black’n’blue’n’purple arm markings)…Sadly this means a shopping trip or just stay cold while shooting outside…hummm…

~Sighting in~4 pins (10, 20, 30, & 40 yards) BUT if I reset my

1st Pin for 20 yards

2nd Pin for 30 yards

3rd Pin for 40 yards THEN

my 4th Pin can be set for 50 yards which could give me a sold 10 more yards from my sight and less adjustment if I have to shoot a target or “Dinner” at 50+ yards…

Then there is cow and bull calling…something tells me its more difficult than calling BullShit~lots to do on the list…
